Nestled in the heart of Old Town, Hilton Alexandria Old Town is just minutes away from Washington D.C. where you can explore the two cities in one trip.  This ideal location is just steps from the King Street Metro and makes sight-seeing in Washington D.C. a breeze.  Located on vibrant King Street, it’s just a quick stroll to enjoy the boutique shops, waterfront restaurants and unique architecture of Old Town Alexandria.

Hotel Room Reservations

IFAC has negotiated a room rate with the Hilton Alexandria Old Town of $242/night plus tax.  We did also negotiate free Wi-Fi in attendee guest rooms. For room reservations, call (703) 837-0440 and reference “IFAC” or make online reservations here.  The Group Code is JIF.

The room reservation cut-off date is Monday, March 22.  After that date we cannot guarantee the IFAC discounted rate.

Automobile Rental/Transportation

Car rentals are available at the airport. Taxi service from the airport to the hotel runs around $25 each way. You may also choose to take WMATA on the blue or yellow line two stops from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to the King Street-Old Town exit and walk across the street to the hotel.

Meeting Registration

The Schedule of Events for the IFAC/Marinalg 2017 Mid-Year Meeting is located here and the meeting registration form is located here. IFAC accepts MasterCard, VISA and American Express.

The registration deadline is Friday, May 31, 2017. In the event of cancellation, registrations are refundable minus a $50 processing fee until Friday, May 31, 2017. No refunds will be given for cancellations after the deadline or for “no shows.” Registration may, however, be transferred to another company representative.

Local Attractions and Weather

Old Town Alexandria offers a variety of restaurants, sights and activities within its limits. If you are looking for a day or two away from Alexandria, Washington D.C. is a short WMATA or taxi ride away that offers some of the most famous attractions, museums and sight-seeing. The National Mall showcases some of the most iconic images, including the Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial and Washington Monument leading up to the steps of the U.S. Capitol. Be sure to check out some of the Smithsonian museums located along the mall and throughout the city. Washington D.C. also offers areas to dine and shop, including Dupont Circle, Georgetown and Chinatown.

Typical weather in Alexandria ranges around 65° during the day and as low as 38° in the evening. A jacket or sweater should be comfortable, especially in the evening.
